There are direct trains from Florence to Cortona (1 hour and 15 min) or from Rome (approximately 2 hours). The airports near Cortona are Florence, Pisa, Perugia and Rome.
Where We're Going
Cortona
Days 1-5
Cortona is an enchanting town made famous by the book, Under the Tuscan Sun. It sits on a hill in eastern Tuscany providing beautiful views of Lake Trasimeno and the Val di Chiani. The quaint village offers a variety of art, museums and shops providing items created by locals. It is also filled with mom and pop restaurants that highlight the areas tasty cuisine. Cortona is a perfect hub for day visits to the award winning wine, cheese and olive oil regions such as Pienza, Montepulciano, Assisi and Sienna.
San Gimignano
Days 6-7
San Gimignano is a medieval hill town rich with history and charm. The heart of the village provides a playful opportunity to dabble in a selection of typical Tuscan culinary offerings such as their world famous gelato, wine, cheese, salami and olives! It's surrounding areas offer stunning views of rolling tuscan hills and vineyards.
San Miniato
Day 8
San Miniato is considered the treasured home of the worlds finest truffles. In fact, it is one of the few places where you can find the white truffle. The largest truffle in the world was found here in 1954. It is the perfect playground for our truffle hunt adventure.

Culinary Experiences
Day 1:
Welcome Dinner
After we check into our charming hotel, we will get settled in and begin our delightful welcome dinner at our very own Villa Marsili! A delicious three-course Tuscan meal will be served, and we will Soluti to our exquisite culinary journey ahead.
Day 2:
A Taste of Tuscany
For our first Tuscan cooking class, we will learn how to prepare a delicious multi-course meal specific to Cortona’s novelties! An example of dishes we may make include zucchini flower flan, homemade ricotta crostini with truffle oil, handmade pici pasta with tuscan ragu, and panna cotta with a mixed berry sauce for dessert.
Day 3:
Pizza & Tiramisu
Class
Ever wonder how Italians perfect their pizza? Today is our chance to find out! We will join an Italian pizza chef and learn how to create our very own pizza masterpiece just as the locals do! To conclude, we will learn how to make homeade tiramisu.
Day 4:
Biscotti Cooking Class (for the young chefs)
While the parents get some down time, the young chefs will embark on their very own homemade biscotti cooking adventure at our Villa Marsili oasis. We will have some fun experimenting with different flavors to create homemade biscotti from scratch and embrace some of Italy’s finest sweet treats! Afterwards, the young chefs will eat a nice Italian lunch.
Day 5:
The Chocolate School Perugina
A Chocolate Master will introduce us to the art of making chocolate truffles at the world-renowned Chocolate School Perugina. Together, we will learn the secrets behind the techniques of chocolate processing such as manual tempering, creating the filling and writing our own message to put into our final product.
Day 6:
Gelato Class
Our World Champion Gelato Maker, known for his innovative flavors, will show us how to make two different types of gelato, one milk based and the other with a seasonal fruit. With his guidance and expertise, we will have the unique opportunity to play with various flavors and make our own tasty creation exclusively for our group.
Day 6 (continued):
Wine/Cheese/
Olive Oil Tour
During our stay at Fattoria Poggio Alloro we will spend an afternoon tasting our way through the beautiful property. While we tour the winery and farm, we will sample a variety of their house wines, two types of their pecorino cheeses, olives, and bread with extra virgin olive oil!
Day 7:
Bruschetta & Pasta Making Course
Oodles of Tuscan noodles!
The term fresh pasta will come alive as we put our hands in the dough and learn how to perfect the homemade noodles. The adults will have the opportunity to sample some of Vernaccia white wine followed by lunch for everyone overlooking the Tuscan hills.
Day 7:
Farewell
Dinner
During the evening of our last day, we will conclude with a farewell dinner on the farm. We will dive into a four course Tuscan meal overlooking the beautiful Tuscan hills as we watch the sunset. It will be a perfect way for us to reminisce about our beautiful culinary journey together.
Day 8:
Truffle Hunting & Cooking Truffles!
Our truffle journey will begin with a stroll in the woods to find a truffle treasure. After, we will have a cooking lesson on how to incorporate our discovered truffles into an authentic Italian three-course meal. For dessert, we will taste our chef’s famous truffle white chocolate creations!
